Barron is a better skater than Pavelski, who's spent the last 15 years scoring goals in the league. I think he'll be more than ok if he can be a force at the dots and have his smart 2 way game translate form college to the NHL. It might take a couple of years to get all the way there but I think he's worth the investment.

I like to think of myself as one of the optimists here, but jumping on the Barron train seems a bit premature. I mean, can we at least pump the brakes until we see him in camp with the team?
After seeing how the Andersson drama unfolded, I think we should stay a bit more realistic here...

Jimmy---

Real nice work on the Expansion Draft article. Well done!

If Seattle needs help reaching cap floor, then Strome is a no-brainer. However, if they have selected enough cap $$, then they may swing for the fences and select Hajek. Defensemen typically take a bit longer to develop and Hajek could be a good bet. Either way, I think Howden stays..

well Anderson was rushed as an 18 year old, had to adjust to the North American game

Barron is already 22 years old, of course he has to win a job in camp but, I dont remotely fear a Lias Andersson situation with him

thanks yeah a lot of what happens with the expansion draft will be determined by their play this coming season, that's why it's difficult to do this exercise so soon

Yeah, as I said a couple blogs ago players bodies at 22 are much more filled out than at 18. College guys come over relatively smoothly to the pros at a much higher clips than 18 year olds. There's a pretty good reason outside of the very best draft picks, most of these guys get sent back to juniors for awhile. I think expectations being way lower than Lias will only help Barron too.

I could see Barron starting the season on the pack, but I think by the end he will be up here.

All true, and on top of that, I think the transition to living in North America was the biggest stumbling block for Lias.
Barron has a much easier transition in front of him in many regards.

So the twittersphere is convinced the rangers just teased Zib as the new captain in their reverse retro jersey preview. Part of a captains C is visible as well as the frosted tips of what looks like Mika’s luxurious locks
